Then I also downloaded Waves V7, knowing that both versions can run concurrently on the same system. I repeated all the steps a few times, but no luck whatsoever.
Okay, I loaded it, clicked on a drop-down menu and thought that I can select any of my Wave plugins now, but the drop down list was empty. After a few attempts there was a waveshell v8 plugin in Reapers plugin list. I started Reaper again, but no Waves plugins found. Okay, I did that, started the scanning process once more and Reaper crashed. Somewhere on the Reaper forum I read that I should disable a feature that enables Reaper to recognize the name of any scanned VST and that I should use the 32 bit Release of Reaper. After installing the plugins using Waves V8r6, Reaper 64 bit was not able to find the plugs. Downloading the plugins and register them using the iLok license system was no problem, even with Firefox4 (on the iLok website you can read that they work on FF4 compatibility, in fact the Internet Explorer 8 didn't work at all because the website can't recognize my iLok with this browser). The bundle is the best option as it contains both, the DESIGNED and the CONSTRUCTION KIT at a reduced price.I just want to share some experiences I recently made with Waves plugins. This collection provides a quick and easy workflow and you can still use those sounds as a basic and layer, stretch or otherwise adjust them to suit your specific needs. They can be easily put into all kind of projects, for example trailers, commercials, movies, TV shows and so forth or used as in-game sounds. The sounds are of a specific topic and ready to use: mixed, processed, compressed, mastered etc. The DESIGNED collections feature fully designed sounds which originate from the CONSTRUCTION KIT stock. DESIGNED – THE PRE-DESIGNED & READY-TO-USE SOUNDS
After all, the CONSTRUCTION KIT serves as such for ourselves, namely in the following process of creating the respective DESIGNED collection.
For some topics it is difficult to provide recordings only, so you will find some pre-processed or synthesizer based sounds in those collections as well, but still only basic material, since we don’t want to offer it compressed to the maximum or similarly mutated. Carefully selected, those sounds give you all the freedom and possibilities you need to design your own sounds within the given topic from scratch. A CONSTRUCTION KIT generally contains thousands of sounds as raw as possible and only as processed as needed for a specific topic, perfectly organized to make it easy for you to use them.
